NFCME's first blog. Do people in Worcestershire want to blog?

The beginning of NFCME blogs?

Welcome to Blogs

Our platform can host blogs, whilst it wasn't part of the original plan, I like the idea of local bloggers blogging locally! I've never written a blog myself, documenting our journey here seems like a good reason to start!

I'm Rio, Designer of the NFCME Platform. I coordinate a small collective of programmers and creatvies who work together towards shared goals. Based in Worcester, we used to create Giant Geodesic Disco Balls for music festivals. During our working holidays, we would present a project called aNCS (autoNoiseCreationStation) to the public. The installation had 2 large touchscreen controllers and users could generate their own music*

We started, nearly 10 years ago, with no coding or hardware skills. Just pure grit. And a whole lot of mistakes.. It didn't exist, there was no-one who could help us. But we persisted... During the development of aNCS, we acquired skills programming in multiple languages, and workshop skills to design and prototype PCBs, low voltage networks, LED controllers and much more..

With the advent of AI, our little team is empowered. We can quickly and affordably pursue some of our larger ideas. One of which led us here! After a 2 week sprint, NFCME went live. What would have taken a year, now is manageble in 2 weeks! What a time to be alive!

It's thanks to this, I think we can provide this service completely free! At the moment it is self funded, we will need to explore a way to balance the books, maybe even contribute a little to my collective and our future projects.. For now, lets experiment. Lets see if this is useful to our local community. We welcome you all to get involved and contribute to the platforms development.

Have fun all! Thankyou for joining.

  • The term music is used loosely, thus the name auto "Noise" Creation Station.
